The PGDM I Trimester Students were taken to Parle -G, manufacturing plant in Bahadurgarh for an Industrial visit on 1st September 2018 to equip the students and to understand the processes of manufacturing of confectionary products and to get practical exposure. An Industrial visit was headed by Ms Shruti Traymbak (Associate Professor), Department of Management accompanied by Mr Vivek Dhaniyani, Department of Pharmacy. At the beginning of the visit students were oriented with Parle company through a beautiful animated video in which the history of Parle G Company, its products, and manufacturing units was showcased..
After the presentation, students were taken around the manufacturing unit and were explained about the process of production, machinery used in the Parle plant such as dough maker machine, paste feeder machine, biscuit molding machine, baking oven, oil spraying machine, cooling conveyor and packaging of the products were shown through a glass window. MS. Hanisha Dalal (HR Executive) and Mr. Ashwini Mallick (Plant Head) explained the working of the plant and gave an insightful presentation related to the working of the plant and its production. Ms.Hanisha also explained the worker’s shift hour, motivational aspects of workers and product’s presence worldwide. She also explained the automation of the plant which follows the highest hygiene standards. Some of the students of PGDM I Trimester- Tushar Chopra, Charu Gupta, Navan Sodhi and Shikha Jain actively participated in discussion of HR policies, manufacturing related issues and finance related queries.
Overall, the visit was highly interactive and practical learning experience for the students on the concept of production, HR and operations within a manufacturing plant.
